The Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin was established by his Excellency, the then Military Governor of Kwara State, Col. David Bamigboye. The decision to establish the Polytechnic was announced during the launching of the four Year Development plan in 1971. The College eventually came into existence following the promulgation of Kwara State Edict no. 4 of 1972 (now overtaken by the edict no. 21 of 1984 edict No. 13 of 1987 and edict no. 7 of 1994) as a body empowered by statute "to provide for studies, training research and development of techniques in arts and language, applied sciences, engineering, management and commerce, education and well as in other spheres of learning". |

INTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR CONSULTANTS TO MANAGE AND MAINTAIN STUDENTS’ INTERNET CAFÉ - The Polytechnic has finally acquired the Students’ Internet Cafes through “Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement.
- The Cafes are located in the Permanent Site and the Mini Campus of the Polytechnic with 130 and 20 computer sets and accessories respectively.
- The Management of the polytechnic is desirous of employing the services of a reputable ICT Experts to manage and maintain the Internet Cafes based on agreed terms and shall be subject to renewal on yearly basis after satisfactory performance.
- Eligible Consultant is expected to have the personnel, expertise and experience required to operate and maintain such enterprise.
METHOD OF APPLICATION - Interested Applicants are expected to submit ten (10) copies of their applications with supporting documents to the Registrar, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin between the date of this advertisement and Wednesday, 2nd May, 2012.

Kwara State Polytechnic gets new Council ChairmanThe Kwara State Government has announced the appointment of Prof. Shehu Jimoh as the new Council Chairman for the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. This followed the redeployment of the immediate past Chairman, Alhaji Musa Ayinla Yeketi, to the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS). According to the State Government, the appointment is with immediate effect. In another development, the Polytechnic will also miss the presence of Dr. (Mrs.) M.O. Olasehinde, who completed her tenure in office as Deputy Rector (Admin.) after spending a single term of three years. Her exit from the office also brings an end to her tenure on the Council. |
